The driving force in translation of instruction/operating material for Industrial products was the European Union Machinery Safety directive that was adopted in 1989. This directive defined anything with two or more moving parts as "Machinery". Today we have the CE Marking directive that requires local language for all manufactured products.
Each European Union member country enforces these "new approach" directives. In many cases individual countries will impose local regulations as well. Worldwide Translations, Inc. watches the regulatory bodies of export target countries very carefully to ensure that your documentation satisfies local laws.
