Overview
Each market brings unique challenges to companies in developing successful marketing strategies. Worldwide Translations, Inc. understands the individual idiosyncrasies of these four major markets and will culturally translate the meaning of your message, not just the words.
Europe
This market is highly regulated by region and country. In many places there are multiple official languages. These are very mature markets and are often viewed as a gateway to the old Communist bloc.
Competition is strong and mostly from within the region. Translation is second nature and is an absolute business requirement to compete successfully.
Asia
This region is a mixture of mature markets such as Japan, South Korea and Taiwan with a blend of developing countries such as China, Viet Nam, Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia. The cultural differences play a major role in doing business with these countries. Protocol is very important along with relationship building when first entering the Asia region. Translation is a very important means of showing respect in dealing with any potential Asian customer.
Africa
With this region you also have a mixture of mature markets such as Israel, Egypt and Jordan and a blend of emerging markets such as Zaire, South Africa, and Nigeria to name a few. The cultures are truly unique within each country partly due to their colonial heritage. You will find that many of these countries have several tribal dialects spoken with no dominant single language. Always identify an official language for a country before having your written materials translated.
The Americas
This region is dominated by the United States. The smaller markets use language as a means of maintaining their unique identity apart from the U.S. and their European ancestors. French in Canada is culturally different than Continental French. Spanish in Mexico and Latin America is very different from the Spanish used in Spain. Brazilian Portuguese also has its local flavor not often accepted in Portugal.
Three of the four major languages found in the Americas are all used within the United States market. More and more companies are providing English, French and Spanish language documentation just for the U.S. market.
